British Columbia Death Registrations.
Edward Hawkins, died August 31, 1872, about 53 years of age, laborer, born England, cause of his death by accidental drowning, informant Richard Copeland, Victoria, registered October 25, 1872, religious denomination Protestant. [This registration is almost 2 months after the death which seems very unusual, but was quite common at that time. The data is very sketchy, with an approximate age which seems way off, born location only a country and his religion specifics are general. even the spelling of his name is off.]

There is an Edward Hawkins listed as being buried at the Old Burying Ground (Anglican Burial Register), located at Quadra and Meares Streets, (known as Pioneer Square, next to Christ Church Cathedral), reference number MC-999. There is only 1 other Hawkins at this same site a Sarah Hawkins. Whether this is Edward Woodin Howkins is unknown, but it might be worth investigating.
